2011 Chardonnay Reserve

89 pts, The Wine Advocate, April 2015

Fermented in stainless steel and French oak (10% new), fermented naturally with 10% malolactic and aged on the lees without stirring for 60 days. It has another a very attractive, naturally refined bouquet with citrus fruit, yellow flowers, white peach and a touch of hazelnut in the background. The palate is medium-bodied with a smooth and rounded texture, lightly honeyed with hints of toffee and almond coming through on the finish. Enjoy this well crafted Chardonnay over the next 3 or 4 years. Plus great price! -NM

This is a blend of  three of our vineyards planted in 1978, 1982 and 1999. Although not 100% oak we believe that some oak fermentation helps the Chardonnay pick up oxygen which enhances the flavors and bouquets. What remains in bottle is a delicate, but rich mineral and apple skin driven Chardonnay with hints of vanilla. Slight malolactic fermentation.
