Dr. Robert Gross, Proprietor

He's a psychiatrist, a homeopath, an acupuncturist, a vineyard owner and a winery owner.

Dr. Gross leads the region in the pursuit of alternative farming and winemaking practices. His visionary efforts established the leading biodynamic vineyards and winery in the Northwest and the largest completely organic operation in Oregon. Today his efforts are focused on new, innovative techniques in the winery that include biodynamic influenced wine preparations intended to enhance body and flavor, especially in off vintages. And, partnered with our winemaker, he is developing innovative new styles of Pinot Noir that wine drinkers are quickly embracing.

Bob  was born in New York, NY and spent his childhood on Long Island before moving to the South. His many fond memories of Georgia include his undergraduate studies at Georgia Tech (Go Yellow Jackets) and his romps around Atlanta with his fraternity brothers. Upon completion of his degree he decided to stay in Atlanta where he attended medical school at Emory.

From Atlanta he traveled around the US for additional studies until his career, family and love of Pinot Noir brought him to Portland. Here his practice continues while he puts his true passion to work at Cooper Mountain.
