Old Vines Pinot Gris

Always produced in small quantities and always a favorite that sells out quickly. This wine reflects twenty-nine years of hard work, passion and careful attention. The fruit for this wine comes from the first vines planted on Cooper Mountain. Vines planted by Dr. Gross and his family. Vines that have been lovingly managed by Gerry Sanchez our vineyard manager. But vines that over the next few years will gradually disappear. Enjoy the vintages of our Old Vines Pinot Gris while they are available.

Shallow volcanic soil causese these vines to work extra hard. This provides wonderful concentration of fruit and flavors that include the very minerals that make up the soil.

Current Vintage - 2007 Pinot Gris Old Vines

Very powerful nose of forward pear, citrus and grapefruit, mineral notes (which comes from the Grabhorn/'Old Vines' site). With nice integrated acidity with citrus/apple flavors on the palate. Mineral tones are present and full body.
